The Hive places community voice and aspiration at the heart of its work. This approach is fundamental to our success.
Through place-based community engagement initiatives, we use authentic community conversations on a suburb by suburb basis. Designed for local residents to share their aspirations and concerns, these conversations unlock ideas and develop community-owned solutions. We deeply listen and engage with community leaders, residents and families – ensuring everything we do is guided by community voice and aspiration.
Working collaboratively alongside local services in four suburbs across 2770, The Hive forms a community backbone to respond to the communities needs and priorities.
The Hive supports Willmot community events and activities including community breakfasts, Kid’s Days (for children 0-5 years), NAIDOC Events, Music Festivals, Community Forums and School Holiday programs.
The Hive runs Sports and BBQ events, Kids Days (for children 0-5), holiday programs and Pop-Up cafes to engage with the local Lethbridge park community.
The Hive supports many Bidwill community events including Kids Days for children (0-5), sports programs and community festivals, and the creation of a mural that depicts what Black Lives Matters means to Mt Druitt resident.
The Hive has begun initial community engagement and consultation in Tregear to explore and discover residents’ aspirations and concerns.
After 10 years in Mt Druitt, The Hive have commenced exploration of a second place-based initiative in Macquarie Fields. We are currently working to build relationships with and learn from stakeholders already doing great work in community.
