Willmot is a small suburb on the north western edge of Mt Druitt and is home to just over 2500 people. The Hive established the Willmot Working Group (Together in Willmot) in June 2016 to collaboratively engage the community and respond to their aspirations and concerns.

Together in Willmot includes members from a range of local service providers, government and non-government organisations and residents. By documenting Community Conversations, we are hearing that the people of Willmot want to feel safe and live in a friendly community that is clean, but they are concerned that kids have nothing to do.

In Willmot, The Hive and our collaborators support various community events and activities including community breakfasts, Kid’s Days (for children 0-5 years), NAIDOC Events, Music Festivals, Community Forums and School Holiday programs. We also have advocated and supported upgrades to local infrastructure such as the Willmot Shops, The Willmot Community Hub and The Willmot Reserve.

Our core collaborators in Willmot are Jesuit Social Services, HopeStreet BaptistCare, Willmot Public School, Connect Child & Family Services, The Salvation Army and Willmot Community Members.
